#funfriday : stick people

Remember those sticks we collected last week? Well we’ve got another stick activity for you! If you need to go on another stick hunt for more sticks, why not?! Get outside and have fun! 

We were inspired by another teacher and thought about sharing her idea! And guess what else! We can use the potato peelers again! What great practice we’re getting! We are using the potato peeler in different ways, for different reasons. What a great tool. And we can use sticks in so many ways. Endless amounts of fun with such a simple object. 

Here it is, STICK PEOPLE. We used my potato peeler to smooth a spot for a face. Remember to shave away from you! You can use paint, markers, crayons, or pencils to make the face. You can even make the rest of the body. Leave it up to the kids! If they have other ideas of additions to their people listen and provide help when they ask.

 “What’s your idea?” 

“How can I help?”

Leave a lot of the work on them because well, it’s their idea and work! 

They can make more than one! They can make a family of stick people. Stories can be told with stick people. Hours of play navigated by your children and their imagination! This is another great time to stand back and listen to the narrations of your child. It is so interesting listening to their stories!
